I have just now gotten started finishing the house. Of course I could afford to have a house built, but it has not inner walls or flooring or that sort of thing right now. I used to do some drywall work when I was in college and I can do that part of it myself, especially since my uncle is going to be around for a few weeks and he is going to supervise the job. I have already put in the guts of a home security system, but I need to figure out what to do about the brains of it. I bought it on an ebay auction with some problems, but I got some a great deal that it was worth it. Now I just need to find the rest of the stuff that I need. Of course I got the cameras and the sensor, the motion detectors and the things that tell you if someone is trying to open your windows or your doors.
The house is going to be slightly smart. It is going to have keyless entry pads on all three doors, then it shall have programmable dimmers on the lights through out the house. My intention is to try to set it up so that the house knows who we are, or more precisely that it recognize our smart phones. Of course the phones can interact with any system you have, if it is smart enough and I want the system to be able to tell who we are based on some simple factors. Of course you need to know the code to get into the house and another code to disarm the system so that it does not call the police on you. Of course that is all a bit difficult to actually achieve.
